the ensign of soviet navy (white with red star, hammer, sickle and blue stripe in bottom) was adopted with Decision of CEC (Central Executive Committee) and CPC (Council of People’s Commissioners) on 27 may 1935 and was firstly hoisted on navy ships on 1 july 1935. The flag based on historical navy flag of Andrew’s cross (white field, blue stripe).

On a photo in the back cover of an issue of Modelist Konstruktor magazine of the 1980’ies, showing the winners of the Soviet Championship of Small Scale Model Sports (Ĉempionat SSSR po Sudmodelhnomu Sportu), held in Kaunas 1985.08, the Soviet Naval Jack is hoisted on a pole and shows its non-mirrored reverse. (Unless it is just an accidently mirrored photo…)
