Flag at least since 1990
Description of flag:
The ratio of flag is 3:5. The flag has the same pattern as the coat
of arms.
Source: Hauptsatzung der Gemeinde Satrup vom 19 December 1990; §1(2).
Description of coat of arms:
In a red shield is an image of the so called Satrup knight in silver
(=white) with black lining.
The knight has mounted a jumping horse, facing the dexter side. The
knight wears full armor including a sword and holds a shield in his left
and a lance in his right hand.
Meaning:
The image of the knight is very old. In the early medieval existed
a relief on a stone in the local church with this image. The coat of arms
was adopted probably under British military administration after WWII,
but no one knows exactly. It is sure, that it was used since 1949.
