A new flag for Maakhir State is shown at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maakhir.  The Arms/crest shown below appear to be unchanged.  The exact date of adoption of the new flag is unknown, as are the details of its symbolism, although the pale blue and white star appear to be based on the Somali national flag.

Confirmation is required on the shape and position of the star? Should it really be vertically stretched and offset to the hoist? The latter, maybe, but surely not the former?

Maakhir State of Somalia (Maamul Goboleedka Maakhir in Somali) is a self-proclaimed autonomous state within Somalia in an area disputed by Somaliland and Puntland.  It was declared in 01 July 2007 but  remains unrecognized by the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia.

Maakhir also has a crest, the central shield of which forms the basis of the flag.  (Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maakhir).
