About the flag

It is a quite typical portuguese municipal flag, with the coat of arms centered on a background quartered (meaning town rank) of white and red. The coat of arms is sable, a two storey castle tower argent, opened gules, under a cross and between two ears of wheat, all of the first, by a river of three wavy fesses, argent and azure. Mural crown argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "VILA DE SERNANCELHE".
