I would call the charge surrounding the leaf ('cartouch' perhaps) as an "embattled lozenge" - is this heraldically correct or is there an alternative?
Christopher Southworth, 4 Sep 2007

The term "embattled lozenge" is correct - it stands for an old castle to control the roads in the 13th century. The leaf symbolizes a "thing"-place, surrounded by linden trees.
