Description of flag:
The flags ratio is 3:5. It is a red over yellow horizontal bicolour with the counties coat of arms shifted to the hoist.
Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided by a blue fessy wavy line. The chief shows a red cross in a silver (=white) field. The base shows a blue fleur-de-lys.
Meaning:
The coat of arms connects elements of the coats of arms of former counties of  Höxter and Warburg, the latter joined the new Höxter county. The cross is taken from the coat of arms of the archbishopric of Paderborn. The fleur-de-lys is taken from the coat of arms of former Warburg county. The wavy line is symbolizing the river Weser.
The colours red and gold are those of the archbishopric and the abbey of Corvey as well.
