The Royal British Virgin Islands Yacht Club flies the BVI red ensign as their yacht ensign along with a burgee. I have just finished reading the history portion of their website. It's really long, but doesn't say that much. It does say that Queen Elizabeth issued the club a Royal Warrant and that it was the first one issued in 20 years, but it doesn't say when that happened exactly. Here is also what an ensign might look like, if they had one.

The distinctive element, the white thing that looks like an "m" with crossed legs, is the astrological/astronomical sign for the constellation Virgo, making this a canting flag (or a canting emblem on a flag).
