"The City of Baxley in Georgia, USA, is considering a new design for its official city flag. In doing so, the Mayor and Council would like input from the community. As a result, the City would like to sponsor an art contest for a proposed flag design. If your proposal is selected, a cash prize of $150 will be awarded. Please keep in mind that Baxley is known as the "Turpentine city", however, any design will be considered. The deadline for proposals is Friday, March 30th, 2007."

On 8 May 2006, the Town Council of Braselton selected the winning designs for the town flag and seal design contest, out of 22 entries for the flag and 27 for the seal. The winning flag was designed by council member Phil Spivey. It features the town's four counties with the town's motto, "A past to preserve and a future to mold." The winning seal was designed by Art Finley, a former member of Braselton's zoning board of appeals. It features the Braselton Town Hall with
the town's incorporation year, 1916, amid grapes representing the town's largest hotel and tourist destination, Chateau Elan.

College Park's flag is the logo/seal on white and fringed. It was seen on photos at the town website: www.collegeparkga.com//images/whatsnew.feb702.jpg

The City of Decatur flag is reported to be the city logo on a white field, but no images have been found to confirm this. The logo is found on the city webpage - a stylized row of buildings with a church at the center.

College Park's flag is its logo on a white field and fringed. It was seen on photos at the city site: http://www.collegeparkga.com, although the images have since been removed.

After a three-month search, city officials in Fayetteville have chosen a design for a new city flag. Nita McFarlin submitted the winning design, and her creation was unveiled at the June 6 [2002] City Council meeting. McFarlin also
received $200 for her efforts. A longtime Fayette County resident, McFarlin once attended school in the same building that now houses City Hall, according to Main Street manager Nancy Price. The idea for a city flag was brought to Price
earlier this year by Councilman Larry Dell, and a countywide contest was organized to find the best design incorporating the city's slogan, "A History with a Future." A team chosen by the mayor and City Council reviewed the
submissions and chose the winner.

www.hist.armstrong.edu/heritage/ThunderboltsGovernment.htm stated that on 15 April 1949, Fred Rotureau presented his design for Thunderbolt’s first official town flag at the Club Royal. The flag depicts an anchor and a thunderbolt
representing the defining moments in Thunderbolt’s history. The anchor and the blue background reflect the importance of water throughout Thunderbolt’s past.
