Municipal flag of Dobrovnik

The flag and arms of Dobrovnik are prescribed by Decision Odlok o grbu in zastavi Občine Dobrovnik, adopted on 7 October 2002 and published on 24 October 2002 in the official local gazette Uradne objave Občine Dobrovnik, 7/2002.
The Decision is available in Slovene and in Hungarian.

The flag of Dobrovnak is in proportions 1:2, horizontally divided blue-white-green with the municipal coat of arms in the white stripe off-set to the hoist.
The flag uses the colours of the coat of arms, that is blue for the Slovenes and green for the Hungarians (from their respective national flag).
The symbols were designed by Ing. Milan Berden.

The colour specification are, on the CMYK scale, as follows:
- Blue 100-60-0-10
- Green 70-0-100-30
- Yellow 0-10-100-0
- White 0-0-0-0

The municipal website shows a drawing of the flag differing from the detailed description. The proportions of the flag are 1:3, the stripes are unequal and the coat of arms is centered. This design is probably taken from a proposal that was later amended to the current flag.

The coat of arms of Dobrovnik is "Tierced per pale azure, argent and vert, overall a triple mount fesswise above a filet and a fritillary flower inverted all or".
The triple low hills are the characteristic horizon of the region, appearing already in historical seals from the XIIIth century. The golden line stands for the fruitful fields. The fritillary (Fritillaria meleagris L.; in Slovenian, močvirska logavica or močvirski tulipan; in Hungarian kokcsliliom) is a protected species found in the municipality.
