This unofficial flag for Bohuslän was designed as a private initiative by someone who probably was not aware of the existence of the official flag for Bohuslän.
The flag was reported in Göteborgs-Posten, a Swedish newspaper, in 1997. It had been used in Grebbestad since 1996. In 2001 it is reported to have been seen at Gullholmen too.
According to the article in Göteborgs-Posten, the red colour stands for
granite, while the two blue shades symbolize sky and sea. The image above is
based on the description from the newspaper.
