The crown looks like an Austro-Hungarian arch-ducal bonnet or coronet
(or possibly the coronet of a Prince of the Holy Roman Empire), would there
be a historical link to such a title?
Christopher Southworth, 7 Mar 2008
Yes, indeed.
The coronet comes from the Coat of Arms of the Radziwill clan, very
prominent in the history of Poland and Lithuania. Since 1515 the Radziwill
family were elevated to Reichsfürsten of the Holy Roman Empire. In modern
times, they are known due to their family's connection to the Kennedy clan
(Princess Lee Radziwill) and to my family as well (which is not so well
known or publicized fact).
