Description of the Heraldic Arms of the District:
On a 'Spanish' shield, in the blue field, centrally located, there is a silver fortress gate with golden roofs of towers. Inside the gate, there is a silver swan on waves in silver and blue.
Symbolism and Justification
The symbolism used, as the fact of difficulties in the primary district heraldic arms reestablishing, refers to humble source materials in which, many a time, there appears the motive of a swan and gothic building background, probably that of the church in Szestno.
As the sources say, a swan in heraldry symbolizes harmony, concord and wisdom. An open gate is the symbol of greatness and hospitality.
