Rawicz: in Rawicz county, formerly in the Leszno region (now part of Greatpolish), founded in 1638 by Protestant German refugees from the 30 Years' War. An important centre of trade and artisanat, but devastated by many wars and plagues. In Poland since WW1. ca. 21.000 inhabitants.
