安iecie city flag

安iecie city, 安iecie county, Kujawsko-Pomorski wojwodship - homepage.
Somewhere on the English pages: "安iecie town is provided with its own flag. Colour: blue with red and white stripe and the crest of the town in the middle. Miros豉w Lorch wins the contest for the town flag appearance."

In the middle of a very long Polish page is an image of the flag (partly presented), taken over by some wikipedia enthusiastics.
The complete image of the flag is in Alfred Znamierowski's "Insygnia, Symbole i Herby Polskie", 2003:
Blue flag, in center two white and red horizontal stripes of 1/6 flagheight each, and in center thereof the city arms.

The arms: gules a burning candle argent between two crescents or. (鈍ieca - candle) (arms after wikipedia).

The arms are based on the 14th century seal of the city, but they have changed considerable. The two crescents were originally two, slightly bend, pales. Their origin is not known, most likely they are derived from the arms of some family. On a 15th century seal the pales are changed into crescents and the shield is now divided. Since the late 16th century the candle appears instead of the division line. The candle is canting, 鈍ieca = candle.
