I was in Gdynia today and I saw the flag, which is hung at every
17th December - on the anniversary of the workers' uprising of 14-17 December 1970 in Gdynia, Gdańsk, Szczecin and Elblag. These
events were bloodily ended by the army and militia - more than 40 men were killed
and it is the best known in Poland is a massacre near the city-rail station at Gdynia-Shipyard,
on 17th December.
On this flag GRUDZIEŃ means "December" in Polish.
