The company was founded in 1881 in Arendal by Carl Herlofsen Sørensen. In April 2000, it joined with Orient Ship Holding AS to form Arendal Ship Management AS. C.H. Sorensen Management then specialized in technical and economical management. THe flag is swallow-tailed, horizontally divided red-white-blue-white-red (~1:1:4:1:1) with a white S in the blue stripe.
