Population (1 Jan 2003): 73.549; area: 26,71 km². Settlements: Vlaardingen. Vlaardingen is part of the metropolitan area of Rotterdam.
This flag was used unofficially; in March 1857 the municipal coucil of Vlaardingen informed the Commissaris des Konings (provincial governor) that this was the official flag. The flag is also depicted in Steenbergen's flagbook of 1870. Official since 1 Jul 1971.
