Lemmer is the seat of the municipality of Lemsterland in southern Fryslân,
bordering on Flevoland. It is an old village with a small cosy harbour
and a great restaurant, where you can for a very decent price eat tasty
fish. It is also the village of the best speed-skater of all times, Rintje
Ritsma (at least according to himself).
The CoA of Lemmer was azure, with a white cloud, from which an arm
emerges with a black sleeve, holding a swallow-tailed flag: black with
a white Scandinavian-type cross.

The village flag was: a green swallow-tailed flag with a red cross.
(according to Sierksma's Nederlands Vlaggenboek, 1962 [sie62]
<Sierksma has no image; it appears from the CoA that it is a centered
cross, not taking in account the swallow-tail...>
