Translated from <jinotepe.com:80>: "The flag of Jinotepe was designed during the tenure of Mayor Candido Cuadra. This beautiful flag has agreat meaning thanks of its nice colors. Purple represents the red of coffees on the green background of the mountains. Yellow represents the dominant Roman Catholic religion. Blue represents the beautiful rivers and seas as well as the sky."
