"The flag for the Maritime Post of the Republic shall be equal to Merchant one, with the initials C. M. in the white stripe."

    Maritime mail flag used form 1899 to 1911

    On January 1 1899 a new draft of the National Coat of Arms came into effect. The change was applied to all national flags and ensigns.
