About Mauritius’ subnational flags

Mauritius Island is divided in nine districts; uninhabited islands across the Indian Ocean belonging to Mauritius are administered centrally; Rodrigues has a higher autonomy level than the “mainland” districts.
António Martins, 05 Nov 2004

Curepipe town

I could see the use of local emblems in Curepipe, where the coat-of-arms of the municipality can be seen painted on a column at the centre of a roundabout, for example, and it is used too on the roadsign showing the entry in the territory of the municipalty. But I could see no local flag in Curepipe.
Olivier Touzeau, 19 Dec 2003

"Curepipe" literally reads "pipe cleaner" in French (would be "cure-pipe" or "cure-pipes", to be accurate).
