Description

Vikings Sailing Club was founded in 1984 by the late Hector Borg Carbott, and includes now more than 120 members. The club was initially named The Sailing Enthusiasts Club, but its name was rapidly changed to its current name. The sailing traditions of the Vikings were closely related to those of the Phoenician ancestors of the Maltese. Moreover, most of the early members of the Vikings Sailing Club had been membered of the Phoenicians Sailing Club in the late eighties. The Club is based at the Nautical School, Haywharf, in Marsamxetto Harbour, close to the Public Library in Floriana.

The burgee is a dark blue 3:5 triangular flag with the representation of a Viking ship in white.
