Overview

Malta rural council (pagasts - 3rd level administrative unit) in Rezekne district. Flag adopted January 21, 2001.   Flag proportions 1:2, Coat of Arms 3/5 from flag hight. Colors Gold 873C, silver 877C, green 340C, red Purple (?).

In latvian, Malta (island) and Malta (village, river) are written identicaly but have no connections. Village untill 1936 was named Borovaja and was renamed according to river Malta (malt - to mill in latvian). Maltas pagasts untill 1925 was named Rozentovas pagasts.
