Hansatank Luxembourg was officially registered on 28 November 1998. It was founded by the German firm Hansatank, Schiffahrt- und Befrachtungsgesellschaft mbH from Osnabrück, together with Uwe Beckman, private businessman. Hansatank aims at engaging in inland tanker shipping.

House flag of Hansatank Luxembourg

The houseflag of Hansatank, as seen in real in September 2006, is blue with three white waves surmonted by a white lozenge bordered red-white-blue and charged with the blue letters HTL. The flag is therefore on the model of the houseflag of the Reederei Jeagers group of company, owner of Hansatank.
