Local Council Qiriat Eqron (or Kiryat Ekron, named after the
biblical town of Eqron) is situated in the centre of Israel,
south east to Rehovot near the
junction of roads 40 and 411 (Bilu Junction). Between 1954-1961
it was part of Regional Council of Brener
and in 1961 became a local council, first as Kefar Eqron and
later with its current name. I was notified by the Local Council.
that the unofficial flag is white with emblem. The municipal
emblem was published in the official gazette (Rashumot,
Yalkut HaPirsumim), YP 1813, 23 March 1972. It replaced the
previous emblem of the Local Council Kefar Eqron, published YP
968, 25 October 1962.
