Local Council Omer is situated 6 km NE of Be'er Sheva. It was established in 1950
and has 7,500 inh. Its unofficial flag is a logo on green.

Omer (= sheaf) passed through several stages until become the
third highest at the "economical standard of living'
list" of Israel communities.
1948 - Kibbutz named Hurbana last for a year.
1950 - Moshav that didn't last long
1957 - Another Moshav last only three years.
1960 - Colony from which the current Omer developed.
