Local Council Kafar Manda is situated on the Lower Galilee
region on the sloops of Mount Atzmon, northwest of Bet-Netofa
Valley and 12 km north of Nazareth on
road 784. According to local tradition It was founded in the 18th
Century and kept the name of the ancient Jewish town Kefar Manda
(or Mandi). It became a Local Council in 1964. The population is
14,000, almost all of them Moslems.
The municipal emblem was published in the official gazette (Rashumot,
Yalkut ha-Pirsumim), YP 3132, 6 December 1984. The
unofficial flag was reported to me as a white flag with emblem.
The information has not been confirmed and therefore this flag
should be regarded as probable only.
