Sveta Nedjelja is a community between Zagreb
and Samobor , and this position
provides for a vivid new enterprises to be located in it
recently. The population counts to almost 13,000, though this is
disparsed in numerous small villages almost touching each other,
so that the main village of the same name county just under 1,000
inhabitants. The name of the community means Holy Sunday and is
not uncommon in Croatia, though it differs slightly in dialects,
so there is community of Sveta Nedelja in Istria and, and there
are few others settlement that do not have community status, like
Sveta Nedilja on Hvar.
The coat of arms pictures in the blue shiled on a green base
town's churches and the Eye of the Lord (an eye in a triangle
within a halo) in chief sinister and includes a white ribbon
inscribed with the name of the community.
The coat of arms heraldic and artistic quality are not on the
level that the Ministry of Administration expects, as far as I
could tell, and it is highly probable that the coat of arms is
not approved, unless there exists some historical presenace (i.e.
that this arms was granted much earlier, of which I am not
aware). However, it is nevertheless used around relatively
frequently. The flag is also to be seen in the town and on TV.

there is a photo with the community flag (very small, though),
just confirming what we know.
The Croatian Sabor on 13 July adopted some changes in teritorial
subdivision, including rising Sv. Nedelja to a city status. This
should be issued in the official gazette nowadays.
eljko Heimer, 31 July 2006
On 13 July 2006 the Croatian Sabor adopted a new law on local
subdivision to replace the previous one from 1997 (amended 15
times since then until 2003). The new law is published in the official
gazette: Zakon o podrucjima upanija, gradova i opcina u
Republici Hrvatskoj, 13.07.2006, Narodne novine, 86/2006,
28.07.2006.The law was promulgated on 19 July by presidential
decree and it became valid on the day of its issue in the gazette
(28.07.2006).
Sveta Nedelja was upgraded to city status (and the spelling was
changed from Sveta Nedjelja, this make it more critical for
differenciation from the community of the same name in Istria!).
