Overview

Krašic' is a community in the Zagreb County, some 50 km southwest of Zagreb, situated on the slopes of the Žumberak hills. Population 3,200 inhabtants in 33 settlements, some 700 in the main village of the same name. Since the middle age a noble community, in the modern time it is known populary as the "valley of cardinals", namely, two of the most important Croatian cardinals were born there (Alojzije Stepinac, cardinal since 1952, beatificated in 1998 and Franjo Kuharic, cardinal since 1983).
The coat of arms of Krašic is: azure from a hill vert a tree issuant and on it sitting a dove argent. This coat of arms appears on the seals of the noble community of Krašici since 1676, similar is painted also in the Zagreb city hall around 1880 (see: <www.hgzd.hr>), the modern design is largely based on the redention from Laszowski's album of 1930's. The modern design is prepared by the Herladic Art company from Rijeka.
There is certainly a flag to go with it, but for the moment, me shall have to wait.
