Overview

Vidovec is a community about 15 km SW of Varaždin, in Varaždin County. It would have about 5,400 (1993) inhabitants, the main village of the same name about 1000 itself. The coat of arms is shown on the County web site <www.varazdinska-zupanija.hr>: Or a cabbage eradicated vert. Unfortunately, no info on flag, the statutes do not describe it.
This is one among a few modern Croatian designs that may proudly compete with such municipal heraldic powers as Norway and Switzerland. Certainly it is a humorous and easy to remember design.

Vidovec adopted new statutes including the description of the coat of arms and the flag where in the 2001 statutes was only mention of them as possibility Statut Opcine Vidovec, 1.06.2006, Službeni vjesnik Varaždinske županije, br. 14/2006, 08.06.2006.
The coat of arms is described to be the historical coat of arms of Vidovec: or a cabbage plant eradicated vert. The flag is described as being blue with overall ratio 1:2. (Notably, the flag is described just so, i.e. no coat of arms is mentioned being part of it, but I do not think that the meaning of the legislator was to have pure undefaced blue flag).
