Overview

Pitomaca is a large rural community in Virovitica-Podravina County, with over 11 000 inhabitants, 6 000 of which live in the main village of the same name. It is situated at the northwester border of Slavonia, in Podravina region.
The village was formed in 1685 after the liberation of the region from Turks. It was for the tricenteary celebrations in 1985 when the coat of arms of pitomaca was adopted, and it is still used in the same form. The flag was adopted in 1990's, probably around 1995.
The coat of arms is vert a fess argent and issuant from base a mount gules. The flag is blue with the yellow bordered coat of arms in the middle. The actual flags also have the yellow fimbriations between the coat of arms elements.
