Overview

The flag is Serb tricolour with golden emblem consisting of the party initials in cyrillic letters. The party is formed in Serb held teritories of Croatia during the time of transitional international government in 1995 by the parts of Serb Democratic Party (SDS) willing to undergo changes, and continued to work in Republic of Croatia after reintegration of the regions. The emblem is based on SDS emblem with aditional letter S below.

Established: Zagreb, 6 October 1995. Members: 2004 (6.000). Members in Croatian Parliament: 1995-1999 - 1 (0,78%), 2004 - 3 (1,97%). The party was after the peaceful reintegration of the Serb held teritories in the Easter Slavonia, Baranja and Western Srijem (UN Protected Areas East), as political represetative of Serbs lead by Vojislav Stanimirovic. The SDSS site claims that the party was formed in 1997 in a merger of SSS (Samostalna srpska stranka) that was active in Zagreb since early 1990, with several progersive options that were active in Eastern Slavonia. According to my observance, the party initially used the emblems of SDSS similar to what was used by a party in the Republuic of Serb Krayina (adding an aditional S), but eventually the graphic symbols of the party were modernized as are shown on <www.hidra.hr>. The party Statutes describ the flag, but the description is ambiguous for me to draw according to it (as far as I undestand it): it is described as a blue flag in ratio 1:2 with the pary emblem in the upper left corner and the inscription at the fly along the fly, the name of the party in red letters in Latin and blue letters below it in Cyrillic script (now how do you put blue letters on blue? maybe white outline?). The party emblem is a white rectangular panel bordered bleu and red containing the party initials SDSS in Latin red and in Cyrillic blue letters, red slightly overlapping the blue and an symbol consisting of two stylized Cyrillic letters C, one red and the other blue, forming the Latin letter S.
