Overview

Checking the latest issues of the official gazette of the Brodsko- posavska County at <www.bpz.hr>, and there are some news from the communities there:
Klakar: Statut opcine Klakar, 31.01.2006, Službeni vjesnik Brodsko-posavske županije, br. 1/06, 14.02.2006. The statutes include the description of the coat of arms and the flag that must have been adopted a few years back. The coat of arms of Klakar is: argent on a mount vert a Croatian border guard stantant with a cap sable feathered argent, jacket azure, trousers argent, boots sable, caped gules and holding in his hight hand a flint gun and with his left hand on a handle of a sabre hanging around his waist. The flag is red with the golden bordered coat of arms in the middle.

Tomislav Šipek pointed me out to the new web site of the Klakar community where the coat of arms is shown: From there I prepare drawings of the coat of arms and the flag, but the figure of the guardsman I use tehrefrom.
Klakar is a community in the Slavonski Brod and Posavina County, some 10 km east of Slavonski Brod along the Sava River. About 2,500 inhabitants, although the community center counts only about 300. It was formed in 1993 by the new teritorial division (formerly being part of Slavonski Brod community), at first covering a bit more territory, but in 1997 two setlements closest to Sl. Bord (G. and D. Vrba) seceeded to form community of Gornja Vrba. The bordering river of Sava is also the state border, and has been so for ages - the frontier guardsman shown in the coat of arms recounts on this tradition during the period of protection from the Ottoman Empire.
