Tinjan is a community in the Istria County, about 50 km north
of Pula, 10 km southwest of Pazin, in the Draga valley, 1,800
inhabitants, 400 in the town of the same name
The Coat of Arms of Tinjan is azure on a base
vert a tower argent behind walls of the same. This is based on
the historical pattern. The coat of arms is shown on the
community web site at <www.tinjan.hr>.

I received an answer from the community regarding the Coat of
Arms and the flag. The answer included only a larger image of the
Coat of Arms then the one available on their web site - there is
a line around the window on the tower and the loop holes in the
walls are visible.
Those are not embattelments on the tower but an architectural
element similar to those at the lower end of an enlarged
structure atop of something else. I think thise are named
consoles.
Aynway, in the mean time Tomsilav ipek located
photos of the flag of Tinjan in use at <www.karateklub.net/tinjan_vijece1.jpg>,
<tinjan_vijece2.jpg>
and <tinjan_priznanja5.jpg>.
The flag in use is very pale blue vertical flag with the coat of
arms set in the lower half bordered golden.
The design, both of the Coat of Arms and the flag, is probably
not approved by the central authorities although I see no reason
that it would be rejected.

Coat of Arms and flag were designed by Heraldic Art d.o.o from
Rijeka and approved by the Ministry of Administration/Central
State Office for Administration before 2006.
