Overview

Ceminac (C<eminac), community some 15 km due north of Osjiek in Baranya with about 6000 inhabitants of which somewhat over 1000 lives in the main village of the same name.
The coat of arms of Ceminac is: Azure a Lion rampant double-queued Or holding a Plough-share Argent. The plough-share (in Croatian "lemeš") is a frequent element of the rural communities' coats of arms in Slavonia (and Hungary, too). The Coat of Arms may well be from 19th century, but at themement I have no info. Unfortunately, I have no data on eventual flag. The Coat of Arms image is adapted from <www.osjecko-baranjska-zupanija.hr>.

On 13 July 2006 the Croatian Sabor adopted a new law on local subdivision to replace the previous one from 1997 (amended 15 times since then until 2003). The new law is published in the official gazette: Zakon o podrucjima županija, gradova i opcina u Republici Hrvatskoj, 13.07.2006, Narodne novine, 86/2006, 28.07.2006.The law was promulgated on 19 July by presidential decree and it became valid on the day of its issue in the gazette (28.07.2006).
Community of Novi Ceminac is now part of the community of Ceminac.
