Overview

It seems that just recently Šenkovec adopted a coat of arms and a flag - see <senkovec.hr> - a lot of photos with coat of arms and the flag in various settings, but no info on adoption date or process - except an interview with a mayor announcing that in 2007 the community shall have to deal with the question of adopting the coat of arms.
The coat of arms is argent a lion rampant gules golding with his front paws a wing sable. The black wing is probably reference to the Zrinski family who owned the region in late medieval period.
The flag is red with the yellow bordered coat of arms in the middle.
The drawings were prepared from adapted images of the coat of arms at the abovementioned web site.

I have taken a look at the newly issued official gazettes in the Medimurje county <www.glasila.hr> and I report here some news:
The decision: Statutarna odluka o grbu i zastavi Opcine Šenkovec, 17.08.2007, Službeni glasnik Medimurske županije, br. 12/06, 05.12.2007, established the symbols of the community as we have them.
The decision was adopted on 17 August, however it was not published until the end of the year, waiting for the approval from the central authorities. The approval was issued with a decision of the Central State Office for Administration under number Kl. UP/I-OI7-01/07-01/91, Ur.br. 515-10/06-07-3 (but the date is not given), and the symbols are valid on the eight day upon the issue (i.e. on 13.12.2007)
