Overview

Looking at the official gazettes of the Bjelovar and Bilogora County (at <www.bbz.hr> ), I found out that accoding to a decision in ŽG BBŽ, nr.10/2005, p. 2, the community must have a Coat of Arms, since they decided to have it painted on the signs where the roads enter the communty. Actually, on the site <www.ivanska.hr> is shown the Coat of Arms and there is indication that the community issued the decision on the Coat of Arms and the flag.

Ivanska is a community in the Bjelovar-Bilogora County, 15 km south of Bjelovar, 3?500 inhabitants of which only 850 in the town of the same name. The name of the place is developed from the patron St. John Baptist (Sv. Ivan Krstitelj) to whom a church was built there in 14th century.
The Coat of Arms is shown on the community web site at <www.ivanska.hr>. The coat of arms of Ivanska is: argent a bonfire inflamed proper and on a border vert twelve daisies also argent seeded or.   The bonfire refers both to the name of the community and its patron St. John Baptist. The daisies (Croatian ivancica) are also canting the name. The Coat of Arms must have been adopted some time around 2000, according to my estimate, but I have not located the decision about this, nor the data on the flag, which I believe is existant.

The symbols were designed by the Heralid Art d.o.o company in Rijeka.
