Presentation of Psara

Psara is an island located near the island of Chios, off the western coast of Turkey.
On 8 September 1822, the joint fleets from Hydra, Psara and Spetsai defeated the Ottoman Navy near Spetsai.

Historical flag of Psara

The flag designed in Psara during the Greek independence war is white with a red border, a yellow owl biting the tongue of a green snake, a green anchor and the words Eleutheria i thanatos (Freedom or death) in green.
