The flag is not totally clear, though. It's another broad spanish fess
of red and white, containing an oval in the center, horizontally divided
in two halves, the top one white and the bottom one black. Siding the oval,
the company's initials appear in seriffed black capitals, F. to the left
(hoist side in the verse, but probably to the fly side on the reverse)
and S. to the right. The doubts appear in what's inside the oval. In the
black, the charge seems to be a white disc, but that's not certain, and
it's even less certain the charge of the white part, that to me looks like
the outline of a tree. This time, the caption is practically certain: "F.
Schichau".

It's No. 580 in the on-line 1912
Lloyds Flags & Funnels, aka 'F. Schichau, Elbing' (East
Prussia), but the CoA seems to be that of Elbing, nowadays called Elblag,
inside a yellow cartouche - the red stripes do not touch the flag's edges
however.

F. Schichau - variant

Indeed, the COA looks like that of Elbing with the difference that I
cannot see any hint of broadening in the extremities of the crosses, in
the houseflag. Anyway, Lloyd's version of the flag is different enough
from my source's to justify the possibility of an evolution of some sort,
although an error is more likely.
