Image sent by Jos Telleman: Elbe, a German shipping company, sold in 1989
to Federal Express (see Alvracht, the Netherlands).
Full name: Schiffahrts- und Speditions Kontor Elbe, Hamburg. The
firm was founded 15 Jun 1921 as Deutsch-Holländisches Schiffahrtskontor
GmbH., and got its new name in April 1922. It was a large company with
tankcoasters, push-boats and inlandtankers, just like Alvracht.
The Elbe flag is blue, bordered brightblue; in center white diamond
with outlined blue diamond, red "ELBE".

At this
webpage is another Elbe houseflag: nearly the same, but with two blue
outlined diamonds. The same image is shown in Wolter's 'See und Seefahrt',
1968.
