From the Norderstedt
city website: Coat of arms: Quarterly Azure and Argent, on an inescutcheon
Gules a compass rose surmounted by a fleur-de-lys Argent. Livery colours:
blue, white, red. I wonder if the city flag isn't really a blue-white-red
tricolour with the arms, rather than having a plain white field. Nordertedt
was created by decree of the Schleswig-Holstein state government of 1 Jan
1970, by the merger of the municipalities of Friedrichsgabe, Garstedt (in
Pinneberg county), Glashütte und Harksheide (in Stormarn county). Norderstedt
is thus a young city."
