Description

A flag version of the arms [i.e. a banner-of-arms]. This is an unofficial flag. Sources: Falko Schmidt, arms from Stadler 1964-1972.

From Ralf Hartemink's International Civic Arms website:

The arms were granted on February 28, 1961 and again on October 12, 1973. The upper part shows the deer antler of the arms of the Counts of Württemberg, who gradually acquired the area in the 14th century. The lower part shows the half wheel of the Lords of Hohenberg, an Austrian possession in the county. The colours in the lower half are taken from the arms of the cities of Trossingen and Tuttlingen.

Literature: Stadler 1964-1972.

Santiago Dotor, 14 March 2002

The ratio of the stripes is 17:23, similar to the ratio of the two fields in the coat of arms. Sources: Falko Schmidt.
