Landesfarben

A yellow-red-yellow triband. In use as civil flag of the Grand Duchy of Baden from 1891-1925. Readopted as Landesflagge of the State of (South) Baden c.1947. Abolished as a result of the merger into Baden-Württemberg 25 April 1952.

Norman Martin, May 1998

The flag of the former Land Baden has no official status today.

Marcus Schmöger, 14 August 2000

The official name of the land formed in the southern part of Baden from 1945 to 1952 is Land Baden not Land Südbaden. The term Südbaden is occasionally —and unofficially— used to provide a clearer distinction between this Land and the larger geographical entity that is normally meant when speaking of Baden.
