The town of Kralovice was first mentioned in records as a settlement
as early as 1183. Located on a junction of trade routes, the settlement
developed rapidly into a town whose heyday continued in the 1990s. Since
2003 Kralovice has been a town with extended powers and the seat of a regional
authority. The town's landmarks include St Peter's and St Paul's Church
with the vault of the Gryspek family, a former town hall, remarkable houses
on Markova Street and the U Beránků House on the square, the oldest structure
in the town. Not far from the town lies Mariánská Týnice with a Baroque
complex which once served as a provost's residence.
