Info at this page:
"The oldest mention of Mikulášovice can be found in records dating from 1346. The town is dominated by St Nicholas's Church. Completed in 1555, the structure was expanded several times and eventually rebuilt. Inside you can find a splendidly decorated carved altar and a remarkable organ dating from 1901. With more than 2000 pipes, the organ is one of the largest musical instruments of its kind to be found in Bohemia. At the end of the 1700s, workshops began to be founded here, which later gave rise to flourishing industries, in particular the cutlery industry and the production of bands and ribbons. In 1796 Ignác Rösler founded a factory manufacturing steel products, the oldest such facility in Mikulášovice. Known all over Europe, the production of cutlery has survived here to this day. The summit of Tanečnice (597 metres above sea level) is crowned with the northernmost lookout tower in Bohemia. This eight-sided stone struckture, reaching to a height of 26 metres, offers a terrific panoramic view of the landscape around."
CoA: as the first two stripes of the flag; the sword's haft is in center of the figure 1916, when Emperor Franz Josef I granted Mikulášovice town status.
