According to <www.gobmagdalena.gov.co>,  Department Magdalena now got 30 stars on the flag. (a star= a municipio).

The Coat of Arms of the Department of Magdalenea was adopted in late XIX century, by a design submitted by local painter Alvaro Corvacho.
