Overview

Pelaya is a municipality in Cesar Department. It was officially founded on 2 December 1948 and previously called Guitarrilla and Corea. It became a municipality in 1983.
The flag of Tamalameque is horizontally divided yellow-green with white triangle at the hoist which is charged by a corncob.
Information in Spanish: "La bandera esta determinada por tres colores basicos estos son: el amarillo que representa lasriquesas de las tierras pelayenses, el verde que representa la esperanza de la comunidad de pelaya y el blanco la paz y tranquilidad y dentro de el, el maiz como simbolo del principal producto de la economia del municipio."
