Overview

Manaure (officially: Manaure Balcón del Cesar (Manaure Cesar's Balcony)) is a municipality in Cesar Department. The village of Manaure was founded by a farmer named Buenaventura Maya on 1 January 1874. Founder Buenaventura Maya named the village in honor of the Cacique Manaure which ruled Maracaibo. Manaure was proclaimed as a municipality by Ordinance 28 of 28 November 1980
The flag of El Copey is horizontally divided (inner ratio ~1:4:1) green-beige-green and charged with the municipal coat of arms.
Information in Spanish: "La bandera de nuestro Municipio tiene una franja verde alrededor que significa el verdor de nuestras montañas, un fondo beige sque representa la productividad y riqueza de nuestro Municipio y el escudo en el centro la riqueza de nuestro municipio."
