shows a 2:3 blue flag with a red Scandinavian cross fimbriated white
and a white star in canton, allocated to Minister, Ambassador, General
or Envoy Extraordinary. Already shown in Flaggenbuch
[neu39] with allocation
to State minister (excluding Minister of Navy),
Ambassador, Envoy Extraordinary, Minister Plenipotentiary,
Minister-Resident and General of Division.

allocated to Governor and Chargé d’Affaires. Already shown

extended to General of Brigade and Provincial Intendant.

Politico Administrativa y Sistema de Gobierno y Administración says
i.a. that each region is administered by an
Intendente (I seem to recall that formerly Chilean regions
were called departments.) It says also that each
province is administered by a governor
(Gobernador, exec.).
