Since most of the district's 5000 people live in the area known as Agassiz (pron: AG-uh-SEE), the area is usually known by that name. To most Lower Mainland residents, Kent is known as the name of the prison which is located there. Kent created a logo flag for its centennial in 1995, and only a few copies were made, but at least one still flies (Sept 2005). The logo gives the formal title "District of Kent", with the name "Agassiz" underneath. This is used as the letterhead logo and on the "welcome to" sign.

The symbol shows a golden valley between tall, green mountains; this shows the location of the farming community between Harrison Lake and the Fraser River and the mountains of the Fraser Canyon.
